The definition of love comes down to perception
It is either the truth or merely an illusion
Brought about by lies and deception
Which in turn cause pain and confusion

Individually we base our definition
On past situations we may experience
That has put us in a painful position
And changed loves face and appearance

But love is not meant to be played as a game
And the words I love you should not be said in vain
Cause that only brings about hurt and pain
And gives the true and sincere love a bad name

True love is not just a feeling in ones heart
But it’s also a choice one has to make
To be willing to sacrifice from the start
Even if that means putting ones own heart at stake

But when true love happens to come ones way
One will realize it simply cannot be defined
Because there are no words that can truly portray
The way true love leaves one blind
